NBA Rookies Found With Weed in Hotel Room
Somewhere, Justin Timberlake is smiling.
NBA rookies and recent members of the Kansas Jayhawk basketball team that won the national championship in April, Mario Chalmers (Miami Heat) and Darrell Arthur (Memphis Grizzles), were caught in their hotel room smoking marijuana. Due to this infraction, Chalmers and Arthur were sent home and kicked out of the NBA's Rookie Transition Program. The former Jayhawks will be forced to complete the program next year.
The two were among 69 rookies who staying at the Doral Arrowwood resort in Rye Brook, N.Y. During the program, the rookies would receive advice on adapting to the nature of the league from formers players, coaches and referees.
Sources are also reported that #2 pick and current Chalmers teammate, Michael Beasley was also in the room at the time NBA security entered the room. Officials believe that Beasley was not participating in the activites.
