Joe Budden Discusses Album Delay, New Material & Royce Da 5'9 Beef



Sept. 16--The saga continues for Joe Budden and his legions of fans. Budden's sophomore album, Padded Room, was originally intended to hit shelves Oct. 28. , but has now been pushed back to a Feb. 24 release date. In an online statement, an obviously upset Budden apologized to his fans.


"I’m not happy about it being pushed so far back, I do understand the method behind the madness…for those of you who are just as anxious as myself, I apologize," said Budden.


To combat with the delay of the album, fans will be receiving a large dosage of exclusive tracks very soon. A prequel to the album, Halfway House, will be released in October and will feature 14 brand new tracks, none of which will be on the album. A mixtape with Big Mike is also in the works.

"I will be releasing a prequel of sorts in late October featuring about 14 new records. I then will do my best to get this Big Mike tape out in December. The [Big Mike] mixtape I’m doing for y'all, scratch that...for us," said the controversial rapper.

Another venture Budden will be getting himself into is something that has been prevalent his entire career, rap "beef". From The Game, to G-Unit, to Ransom and most recently to the imprisoned Prodigy, Budden has long been considered one of hip-hop's most venomous rhyme slingers.


A new target Budden will soon be addressing will be the Detroit lyricist, Royce Da 5'9. The two have been trading jabs for months, but on Royce's "Bar Exam 2", the battle lines were drawn when Royce stated...
