Timbaland R&B mix
One of the many Timbaland Mixes I've put together. The additional Keri Hilson pictures are here because I got sidetracked. Well dressed women appreciation is always necessary. Peace.
Return of the Mack
No, really I feel I like Mark Morrison on some return of the mack type stuff right now. Been really busy working on the site + I'm finding out that trying to get a job is a actual job in itself.
I've decided to go southpaw and not concentrate on the application process so much but utilize the professional network I already have. That being said, a 20min phone conversation w/ a colleague of mine(senior recruiter) and two pages of notes later(a few dir. of buis dev. contact infos) , I can say I'm on the right path for 2009 with several positions I applied for. It doesn't stop there. I've got a few other positions I need to do the same for. I'm somewhat connected. Looking for a job? I suggested you do the same because someone you know knows at least something about a open position somewhere.
2009
All of my friends say the same thing, "2009 is my year". Hopefully, the economy will be better, so it can be everyones year. Corny??? Working hard should pay off and not pay under. With that said congrats to the December graduates.

RIDE THE WAVE...
Wednesday, November 5, 2008
I'm sitting at the stoplight on the way to work trying to gather my thoughts about how I should feel about our new president.
Accomplishment. Amazement.
As soon as Virginia was counted for Obama, changing my state's alignment of being historically republican, a sense of accomplishment was followed by amazement as our nation elected the first black president.
My vote seemed to matter. It better had. I drove in the rain from Norfolk to Richmond at around 4:45am to vote. Then I waited in line from 6:30 to around 8:15 only for them to tell me that I wasn't in the books. I was shocked because I doubted that I was even registered.
Fast forward. Flawless victory.
Jesse Jackson's tears were priceless. He should've been crying because at that moment he realized he was a Hater. He told Obama he would cut his nuts off???Obama's was response was completely the way it should've been. Tactful and respectful.
What does this mean?
I can't think of a time in history where you could feel more proud to be an American. This event in history inspires the whole world, not just our nation. Throughout the day I've been reminding myself that my president is black. The actuality of the situation still seems foreign.
Regardless, I'll be purchasing a couple of newspapers today to hold for later on down the road, because like a friend of mine said, " This isn't going to happen again for a minute." Correct. Hopefully, we will be blessed to have him serve 8 years.

Joey and his girl have a disagreement in this one...as usual, comedy is all throughout this clip.

BIG NEWS concerning Charles Hamitlon & Grade A
Ok, that cake leaves a lot to be desired, but 70,000 hits...WOW. That's really all I can say. To anyone who has ever visited this site, referred anyone to this site, hell, even if you hated on this site...I SAY THANK YOU!!! Words can't even really express how grateful I am for the love this site is receiving. I know Grade A isn't on the level of a Hear It First or a 2DopeBoyz, but damn, if we aren't one of the most up and coming sites for music (and news), then color me stupid. I'm trying to get 100,000 hits by the end of the year, and I'm confident we can make that happen. Yea, I know I sound like I'm on my Barack Obama sh*t right now with all this "we" talk, but that's really what it is. If I didn't have people coming to the site, I wouldn't keep doing this. Be on the look out for CollegeRadioMusic.com, that's another site I am writing for. Don't worry, nothing is going to happen to Grade A except we are going to keep getting expanding the brand. Hopefully, soon, I can incorporate a radio station so when you come here, your favorite songs (and exclusives) will be playing.
But on to the BIG NEWS (well at least it is to me). By now, I'm sure most of you are in tune with Charles Hamilton, Demevolist and The Hamiltonization Process. Charles has been releasing mixtape after mixtape for the past couple of months and his buzz is growing expotentially. He just released The L Word earlier today. Soon, Charles Hamilton & Demevolist will be releasing a tape with Grade A & College Radio entitled, F.I.N.A.L.S. It's an acronym for F*ck, I Never Actually Learned Sh*t. As much as I would love to take credit for that name, I have to give that to a couple of people I went to high school with...damn, have I really been out of high school for almost 5 years?
Anyway, yeah, be on the lookout for that exclusive. Who would have thought when Grade A was first launched on August 7, 2008, that within three months we would be doing a tape with one of the top underground artists in the game? Blessed...that's all I can say.
I'm out though...gotta be back to work at 5 and I'm trying to catch a nap before then. Keep grindin' and keep struggling...cause at least you know you haven't quit. Those are my words of wisdom for the day.
--J. Tinsley
P.S. R.I.P. Julian King and to Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother. Damn shame...
Jabari speaks with Max B pt. 2
The second installment with Jabari's interview with the wavy one himself (and now Byrd Gang free), Max B.
Mick Boogie & Terry Urban present: Viva La Hova
Mick Boogie & Terry Urban put this tape together, so you already know it's got the official stamp of approval. In my opinion, you can't really go wrong with this combo because both of their styles mesh well with one anohter. Don't believe me, find that Lost! (remix) with Coldplay and Jay and tell me that didn't have your eardrums in a stupor. As far as this release goes, Hov's rhymes + Coldplay's backdrops= quite a damn good tape.

DJ SouthanBred to Soulja Boy: "You doin Arab dirty...you ain't cuttin' checks."
Former Soulja Boy DJ, SouthaBred, responds to Soulja Boy and he GOES IN!! He brings up specific instances of a not so generous Soulja Boy such as not making sure the people in his camp were paid and when he almost fired Arab for messing up an ad-lib.
BREAKING NEWS: Lil Wayne to join Jay-Z's RocNation in 2009
Oct. 27--The number three in hip-hop is symbolic to domination. Although only on Deathrow Records collectively for only a few months, the trio of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg & Tupac Shakur created records that soon became West Coast anthems and hip hop classics. Dre struck gold again when he found a little known white rapper from Detroit named, Eminem, who would then go over to sell 60 million records worldwide. Dre and Em would soon sign the New York mixtape legend, 50 Cent (and his G-Unit comrades), which equated into 11 million records sold on his first album and the rest was history.
After supplying his 2001 opus, The Blueprint, with several legendary instrumentals, the partnership that was Kanye West & Jay-Z has skyrocketed into critical acclaim, ridiculous album sales and two of the most sought after names in hip-hop. Following the same path success as Deathrow and Shady/Aftermath, a third megastar will soon be added to this duo. In what was thought to happen during the spring of 2004, reports are surfacing everywhere that Mr. Carter (Lil Wayne) will be joining Mr. Carter's (Jay-Z) RocNation at the beginning of 2009.
According to insiders, Jay-Z flexed his finanical muscle and paid Bryan "Baby" Williams (and Cash Money) $5 million for the rights of Lil Wayne.
It is important to note that none of this has been confirmed but an insider did tell MediaTakeOut.com, "The deal was in the works for awhile; they just needed to get on the same page as to price. And [everyone's] there now."
Joe Budden--Halfway House
For anyone who knows me, they know I am a HUGE Joe Budden fan. I was hesitant of posting this on the site simply because I wasn't sure if this was a mixtape or an album...and I do not post LP's here...just singles and mixtapes. So I decided to post a link to this and post a link as to where you could purchase this release as well. I know some of you are probably thinking, "why the hell would I buy it, when I can download it for free right here?" The answer to that is simple, for the true fans of Budden who would like to support his music, I am giving you the opportunity. He is hands down one of the most talented artists of this generation (whether some would like to admit it or not) and I will always support dude's music.
Oh yea, be on the look out for the mixtape with Big Mike in December...

**The standard Hebrew meaning of Delilah of is “one who weakened or uprooted or impoverished.” This song is the other side of the Samson Story. We all know of great heroes and their epic falls, but what corrupts beauty and blackens a womans heart? Its growing up in dire poverty under the headmaster (no pun intended) of the school of hard knocks. And the 1st lesson to little pretty girls in the ghetto is that your body has a price. When this is the lesson women learn how are they to respond to men? I figure much like the black widow or a venus fly trap, looking beautiful and enticing men to utter death. But Brother I tell you when death looks that good in the club its hard not to wanna dance with this she devil. Delilah is more than a girl, its a mind state. A mind state we as men create when we put a price on the pussy. Ain’t it only wise then for the person with the supply to charge according to demand? Just some thoughts, peace. Hope you enjoy.**

Sammie & Soulja Boy working on new material; Schedule a $50K Madden game
So, I can't even lie...the big homie DJ Boogie has been lacing me with some heat these past couple of days. What we have here is Sammie & Soulja Boy in studio working on some new material. Say what you want haters, it's gonna be a hit.
Back to the subject at hand, while taking a break from recording, the topic of Madden comes up. Sammie says Soulja Boy can't beat him, vice versa and fast forward a few minutes and we have our newest celebrity Madden game. Look for the Bucs (Sammie) vs. Titans (S.B.) very soon with $50K on the line. This time it's not for charity and Sammie vows to go on a SHOPPIN' SPREE (pun intended...for those who don't know, Soulja Boy had a song by that title).
Sidenote: It is interesting to hear Sammie bring up Bow Wow not holding onto his side of he and The Game's wager...

Sammie recorded this song over a year ago, but the song was given to Trey Songz a couple a months ago which he then turned into his lead single "In Ya Phone" featuring Fabolous. I can't front...this record is a banger. Be on the look out for more new Sammie in the coming weeks. Big shout to my homie DJ Boogie...Hampton Homecoming is about to stupid. Let's get it.

Soulja Boy speaks his mind
Soulja Boy responds to all of his ex-associates who have been saying some not so nice things about him recently.

Shawty Lo feat. Stuntman--Don't I
I'm guessing Lo didn't care for the "What Up, What's Happenin'" video too much. Although I don't really agree with the kids waving the red rag around, I guess the video served its purpose.
It's odd that he didn't release this back in like August or September when the track was getting heavy burn; but I guess now is better late than never.
Joe Budden TV: "2 down, ? to go"
"Yung Berg can fight..."--Royce
LMAO...Budden is a fool. He and Royce still in the studio still cookin' up some fire.
TRAILER: Notorious
This trailer has been causing quite the debate recently. So what do you think about it?
Personally, it looked pretty decent to me. I can already tell one of the best scenes is when D-Rock (I believe that's his name) takes the charge for B.I.G. and the only thing he asks in return is for him to a successful rapper. That is hands down the realest story I heard regarding Biggie.
Being the fan that I am, I HAVE to go see this movie.
R.I.P. Christopher Wallace.

Crazed McCain supporter lies about a black man mugging and sexual assaulting her
It never ceases to amaze me the length to which some people will go. This is just utterly disgusting.
As if the McCain/Palin camp weren't receiving enough bad publicity to begin with, now they have to deal with this.
Election Day is 9 days away. I'm ready, are you?
BREAKING NEWS: Jennifer Hudson's mother and brother shot to death; Nephew abducted
Oct. 24--The mother and brother of Grammy award winner, Jennifer Hudson, were found shot to death in their Chicago home. Police are currently looking for Hudson's seven-year-old nephew (Julian King) who was abducted from the home. Authorities believe the crime may be linked to domestic violence.
Hudson's publicist, Lisa Kasteler, remained tight lipped on the situation.
"We can confirm that there is an ongoing investigation concerning the deaths of Jennifer Hudson's mother, Darnell Donerson, and her brother, Jason Hudson. No further comment will be made and the family has asked that their privacy be respected at this difficult time," said Kasteler in a statement.
Deputy Chief Joseph Patterson confirmed at 3 p.m. a relative entered the home to find a woman shot on the floor. Police later found the body of a man in a bathroom.

Behind the scenes of "One More Drink" with Ludacris & T-Pain

VOTE MORGAN JAMES ON TO THE "REAL WORLD"
Aight, so I am trying to help my homegirl (Morgan) out by getting her votes to be on the next season of the Real World (yep, the show on MTV). I figured, why not I ask the faithful viewers of Grade A to help garner some votes as well. These are two of her videos that she submitted so feel free to look at them.
I believe that she only needs like 200 more votes to make it to the next round so let's see if we can get those votes for her. It's actually very easy...just click the link I have provided below and once that page loads just click vote which will be in your top left corner. No registering necessary.
Once again, muchos gracias senors y senoritas (did I say that right?)

Max B officially breaks all ties from Byrd Gang Records
Oct. 21--It looks like Jim Jones' claim of "Max B never releasing an album" will run its course very soon. In an exclusive interview with XXL, the "wavy" crooner from Harlem recently revealed that he is no longer contractually obligated to Byrd Gang Records, a label that was once thought to be one of the most up and coming in the music industry.
“I’m as free as a bird,” the rapper told XXLmag.com exclusively. “Now it gives me the ability to ride without no remorse, no sympathy, no pity. I’m riding on everything. I’m riding. I’ma ride on my rivalry for the season. It’s gonna be so wavy. So big, so heavy, so controversial. It’s gonna be like none other.
Once seemingly the best of friends, Max B and Jim Jones have been in bitter war of words for quite some time. Due to the stipulations in his contract, Max was prohibited from lashing out in the manner he wanted to. Now that those barriers have been erased, the man who gave Jim Jones some of his most memorable hooks looks to expose his former label mate.
“I’m gonna speak about everything, Jim Jones. I got more deep, down, dark secrets.”
"Wavy Crockett" was able to break free from his contract through legal loopholes. Due to paperwork he received from the state of New York, Max B claims that Jim Jones cannot pursue legal action at anytime in the future.
“I’m not even part of the U.S. Government laws,” Max B said. “I’m not a citizen of the United States, I’m dead ass. My laws, the laws you go by, I don’t have to follow. As long as I don’t purposely hurt nobody, I’m straight.”
The man who made the phrase "wavy" a fixture on the hip hop scene is now planning a tsnaumi on the industry. Rumors of a bidding war for his services have already surfaced. For the official (as of now untitled) debut, Max hopes to work with Timbaland, Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado.
Regardless of whenever the album reaches stores, he has one promise that he vows to keep.
“I’m gonna be 10 times better than [Jim Jones] ever was."

Shouts to WhatsThatRightThere for giving me the heads up on this video.
In my opinion (as if it really means alot LOL), this should have been the first single...not "Rewind". This is the type of song we have all come to expect and appreciate from Musiq.
The fact that Mary J is on this only adds to the quality of this record...

Grade A Featured Artist: Stylish Phree
**Hopefully, once a month I can showcase a new artist that I believe has talent and who's music I support. So if you are really on your grind, shoot me an email or hit me up on AIM.**
"It's a recession...everybody broke. So I just came back to give everybody hope." These were some of the first words Young Jeezy uttered on his new releaese, The Recession, which was released earlier this month. It seems like since Nas declared hip-hop deceased a little over two years ago, every hip hop fan received their doctoral degree in determining state of the genre. Fads have come and gone and hip hop has seen more "fly-by-night" acts than a cheap circus.
To further add to things, the mecca of hip-hop, New York, has been seen its fair share of upsets. Since the fall of G-Unit and Dipset, New York has been put on the backburner while the South has seen its reign of power shift from Atlanta, to Houston, to New Orleans and to Miami and come full circle roughly seven times over. Bottom line, even with Maino's, "Hi Hater", the only acts out of New York that create some sort of a buzz are Jay-Z, Nas and 50 Cent (and maybe Fab depending on who you ask). It's hard to tell when the balance of power will shift back to N.Y. (remember it briefly went to the West when Game dropped his first album), but when it does, it won't be from Jay's newest album or 50's latest diss record...it will come from a new name to emerge from the side blocks of the "rotten apple".
Normally, most northern artists are classified as "mixtape rappers" (see Papoose, Jae Millz, Serius Jones, etc.). Honestly, the sterotype that is placed on them can't really be argued because most never graduate from that level and a lot never aspire to receive more than the "hood love" they already acquired (it is good to see the big homie Maino getting love though). However, not every act from "the home of 9-11...the place of the lost towers" can be placed in that category. Exit "mixtape rappers"...enter Stylish Phree.
Born Phinnigan Edwards in the same section of Brooklyn that cultivated Biggie Smalls ("BROOKLYN WE DID IT!!!...sorry, felt the need to add that), Phree has been a celebrity on Hart Street since he was old enough to wear a pamper. He plans on bringing that same "hope" Jeezy talked about, and with his lyrical prowess, seems to be on the right track toward proving that. Bed-Stuy has been the inspirations for his boastful rhymes, yet his painful and introspective lyrics. The accomplished songwriter with an uncanny sense of emotion has songs that will reach out to every listener, regardless of age, creed, color or sex. Unlike many of his counterparts, he possesses the ability to make a single, one that will create a buzz if given the proper funding and direction.
Although many of his bars paint of a picture of a rough Bed-Stuy upbringing, Phree is not the typical one dimensional lyrical rhyme slayer who shines on one aspect, while the rest of his game suffers. Phree's still untitled debut album will be a showcase of a roller coaster of emotions, from joy, to pain, to shock, to amazement and to everything in between. It's not many stones the big homie will leave unturned and many topics left untouched.
Only time will tell if Phree will evolve into the success he seems so destined too, but one thing is for certain, he is unlike any young rapper spitting into a microphone at this current moment.

Wayne announces re-release of The Carter III and new child
Oct. 19--Hip-hop megastar, Lil Wayne, recently broke the news that he would be re-releasing his critcally acclaimed and highest selling rap album of 2008, The Carter III. The expected release date is said to be very soon, possibly before the third installment of his popular mixtape series, The Dedication, with DJ Drama is released. Wayne made it clear that this release would NOT be The Carter IV. The hip hop world can expect to see C4 in mid 2009.
While on stage at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, Wayne also added that he would be having a son in the coming days. Before Wayne exited the stage, his final words to the audience were, "I got a son dropping any day, pray for me."

808's & Heartbreaks track listing
I was meaning to throw this up last night, but I just didn't get around to it. Anyway, say what you want, but that cover is dope as f*ck!! I really wanted him to stick to the school related titles, but hell, there sure are a lot of heartbreaks once you leave college, so this gets a pass. Below is the rumored track listing for the album set to hit stores next month. Mr. West had this to say when responding to the criticisms facing the album...
“I don’t give a fuck if it’s hot or not, it’s from the heart… Would you judge a grandmother’s love? Give it two-and-a-half mics out of five?”
