Martin Luther King's "I Have A Dream Speech"

Forty-five years later...M.L.K. still remains arguably the most influential African-American of all time.

In all honesty, this isn't even my favorite King speech (the "Mountaintop" speech still remains my favorite of ALL time), but this is by far his most recognized and most revered. In a time where not only African Americans were experiencing economic hardships and a war that not many knew the real cause for (sort of like today actually), King was the face of the Civil Rights Movement (along with X and the Black Panthers) and he, himself, represented the change he wanted to see in the world.

Forty-five years ago almost to this exact minute, King stood in Washington D.C. and proclaimed to the world that change was coming. It's funny how things come full circle. And tonight, although it's not the nation's capital, Obama will make history in the house John Elway built.

And maybe, just maybe, that "dream" that MLK talked about...can be a little closer to becoming a reality...
