King, X...Obama?

It remains to be seen if Barack Obama will indeed become the next President of the United States of America. But if last night was any indication of the time to come, maybe the morale in this country will begin to take a turn for the better. For over 45 minutes last night, the senator from Illinois captivated the world with one of the better political speeches since Dr. King marched on Washington four and a half decades to the day.

On the biggest of all stages, Obama delivered with an eerie like calmness. He set the bar so high for McCain, Bush and the rest of the Republican party that only an Olympic pole vaulter could fathom clearing. During his speech, Obama continued to excel on what may very well be his best quality...the ability to connect with so many people on so many levels. He took the struggles of everyAmerican and projected them in his speech for the world to hear. In essence, taking those pains and broadcasting them to the world was a form of therapy...basically letting them know that a change was coming and they could rest easy.

He even turned many Clinton supporters into the newest members of the "Barack Bandwagon", which many thought would be one of his most difficult tasks. He has the swagger, the charisma, the personality and the view to be the change he so desperately wants to see in America. Since April 4, 1968, many have searched for the next great leader in America. Maybe last night, with the thought of Dr. King, Malcolm X and all those who made the Civil Rights Movement possible, that question was finally answered...

66 days until Election Day...are you registered to vote?
